By the mid of year 2012, one more Volkswagen small car model will be launched. Volkswagen India has planned to launch the next generation version of popular premium hatchback Volkswagen Up in the Indian domestic market. The company is expected to offer this innovative vehicle to the Indian buyers as younger sibling of popular premium hatchback Volkswagen Polo. The European auto major has developed the Volkswagen Up in two door, three door, four door and five door trims but, in India the company is expected to launch only five door version.

This hot and ambitious product of Volkswagen India has very impressive body design, eye-catchy interior and classy exterior which attract everybody. The all new launching Volkswagen Up price is expected to fall in the range of Rs. 4 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh at ex-showroom. First of all the company will launch only petrol model of the vehicle. In this price range it is speculated an answer to Maruti A-Star, Hyundai Eon, Santro Xing, Hyundai i10, Tata Indica eV2, Chevrolet Beat etc.

The German car maker is offering 1L, TSI, three cylinders turbocharged, petrol engine in this small car which is capable of delivering a power of around 68 bhp and peak torque of 140 Nm. A five speed manual gearbox will be offered in the vehicle. Volkswagen Up mileage is expected impressive because tiny 1L, TSI engine comes among fuel economical small car petrol engines.

In terms of features, the company is expected to offer power steering, dual tone upholstery, spacious cabin with ample legroom, significantly sleeker dash, music system, stylish central console and panel etc. comfort features. Meanwhile, Volkswagen Up features for safety will also be decent because, the German auto major may offer front passenger and driver airbags, ABS, powerdoor locks, keyless entry, child safety lock and so forth as standard in all variants of the vehicle.

India bound five door version of Volkswagen Up has also been spotted on roads during test run and its very impressive body design and innovative features are making it bizarre in the segment. Further details about the new Volkswagen Up will be disclosed on the official launch.

At the New Delhi Auto Expo 2012, Volkswagen displayed the most fuel efficient Volkswagen Xl1 concept, new Volkswagen Touareg and New Volkswagen Beetle. Along with Up, the company will also be launching the new Beetle and Touareg in India by near future.
