Maruti Ertiga is Maruti Suzuki India Limited's Maruti RIII concept based new MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) which would officially be launched at New Delhi Auto Expo 2012 in January. With the launch of Maruti Ertiga the company seeks to brake the market share of Toyota Innova, Tata Aria and Mahindra Xylo which are another popular MPV models in Indian domestic market and dominating the segment for a long time. Maruti RIII concept based the new MPV has been most popular since its display at the Auto Explo 2010.
There is no conformation about the new Maruti Ertiga price but as per its pictures and leaked features it will fall in the entry level MPV segment. But in this Maruti Ertiga review we expect that its price is expected to start at Rs. 7 lakh while the top-end variant will be available at Rs. 9 lakh at ex-showroom Delhi. Good news for this popular Maruti MPV lovers it is that the company will offer both petrol and diesel engine model in the new beast. The expected Maruti Ertiga variants for petrol model are three like LXI, VXI and ZXI while diesel model will also be offered in same three models like LDI, VDI and ZDI.
Beside entry level MPV segment, the new Maruti Ertiga features and specifications are just like premium MPV model Which attract everybody. Power windows, power steering, body color bumpers, internally folding OVRMs (outside rear view mirrors), multi trip meters, AC, central locking, ABS with EBD, optional Airbags, Music System, Leather Seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob etc. will be available in the new beast as standard.
The Maruti Ertiga mileage would be impressive for both petrol and diesel models. Because, petrol model is powered with a latest K Series 1.4 liter mill which has a displacement of 1372 CC that would generate maximum power of 95 bhp along with a peak torque of 130 Nm. Meanwhile, diesel model will come bestowed with a 1.3L DDiS engine that currently does duty in Maruti SX4. Its displacement is 1248cc and for better efficiency is blessed with Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) and capable of delivering peak power of 89 bhp and peak torque of 200 Nm.
