First time, Skoda Auto, a venture of Volkswagen Group is offering an entry level sedan car to Indian auto market in competitive price. The all new Skoda Rapid price for the base model is expected at Rs. 7.50 lakh while the top-end model of the car may go for Rs. 9 lakh at ex-showroom. The new Skoda Rapid is expected an answer to India available popular entry level sedan car models like Volkswagen Vento, Tata Manza, Maruti SX4, Ford Figo and Tata Indigo. The Czech auto major includes innovative technology to make the car decent in the segment.

Meanwhile, the diesel model of the Skoda Rapid comes equipped by a fuel economical 1.6L 1598cc, 4 Cylinder, 8 Valve engine that makes peak power of 105 Bhp and top torque of 250 Nm. Both the petrol and diesel models of Skoda Rapid comes mated by a 5 speed manual gearbox. To make the Skoda Rapid mileage decent, the company developed the petrol engine on Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) technology base while the 1.6L Common Rail diesel engine is already well known for its great performance and impressive that currently does duty in Volkswagen Vento.
